Faithful 64x keeps the vanilla style and quadruples its resolution: every texture is redrawn at 64 by 64 pixels instead of 16 by 16. The Faithful team describes it as “the logical next step in upscaling Minecraft textures”. Up close the difference is huge, from a distance it still looks like Minecraft. It works in vanilla Minecraft 26.3 without mods or OptiFine. In my texture pack video it is number 1.

What Faithful 64x changes

Every texture, same style: blocks, items and mobs keep their vanilla design, with four times the resolution and just the right amount of extra detail.
Consistent with Faithful 32x: the 64x textures are based directly on their 32x counterparts, so both packs look like one family.
Vanilla feel: if you like detailed packs but still want Minecraft to feel like Minecraft, this is the one.

Faithful 64x for Minecraft 26.3

The current release is Release 15 (Wilderness Bound Drop) from September 15, 2026, about 19 MB. With over 7.4 million downloads on Modrinth it is the most downloaded pack on my list. It is published under its own Faithful License; as always, I link only the official pages.

If your PC has less power to spare, Faithful 32x gives you the same style at double resolution.

How to install a texture pack

Download the zip from the official Modrinth page. Don’t unpack it.
In Minecraft, open Options, then Resource Packs, and click Open Pack Folder.
Drop the zip into that folder.
Back in the game, move the pack to the right (Selected). If you combine it with smaller packs, keep Faithful 64x at the bottom of your selected packs.

The rest of my top 5

Excalibur, Whimscape, Golden Days and Alacrity. The whole list is in 5 texture packs for Minecraft 26.3, tested on 407 blocks.

Two Minecraft screenshots side by side of ore blocks, right with much finer detail — In-game screenshots, left vanilla, right with Faithful 64x: ores up close.

Two Minecraft screenshots side by side of colored wool, concrete and terracotta blocks — In-game screenshots, left vanilla, right with Faithful 64x: the colors wall.

Two Minecraft screenshots side by side of a coastline with a large building on a plateau — In-game screenshots, left vanilla, right with Faithful 64x: the flight from the bay.

Real in-game screenshots (Minecraft 26.3, vanilla and with Faithful 64x, recorded in The Mod Hunter's Block Archive). Left vanilla, right with the pack.
