Privacy Policy

This policy explains which personal data is processed when you use themodhunter.com. We do not run our own tracking or analytics. Ads are delivered by Google AdSense according to the choice you make in the consent dialog, videos from YouTube and TikTok load only after you click play, and all fonts are hosted on our own server.

2. Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany, on servers in Germany. Each time a page is requested, the server automatically processes data sent by your browser: IP address, date and time, requested page, referrer URL, browser type and operating system. This is technically necessary to deliver the website and to keep it secure (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Log files are deleted after 14 days at the latest, unless they are needed to investigate a security incident. We have concluded a data processing agreement with the hosting provider (Art. 28 GDPR).

3. Contacting us by email

If you email us, we process your email address, your name if provided and the content of your message in order to answer your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if your request relates to a contract, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Our mail server runs on our own server at Hetzner Online GmbH in Germany. Incoming messages are also forwarded to our mailbox at Proton AG, Geneva, Switzerland; the European Commission has recognised Switzerland as providing an adequate level of data protection (Art. 45 GDPR). We delete messages once they are no longer needed, unless statutory retention obligations apply.

4. Fonts

All fonts are served from our own server. No connection to Google Fonts or any other font provider is made when you load a page.

5. Local storage (theme)

If you switch between light and dark mode with the button at the top right, we store your choice in your browser’s local storage (key tmh-theme). This is strictly necessary to provide the function you requested (Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG). No data is sent to us.

6. Consent management and advertising (Google AdSense)

This website is financed by ads from Google AdSense, a service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”).

Consent dialog: On your first visit from the EEA, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, Google shows a consent dialog (Google’s consent management platform, certified under the IAB Transparency & Consent Framework). There you decide whether and for which purposes Google and its advertising partners may use cookies and similar technologies and process personal data, for example for personalised ads, ad measurement or fraud prevention. You can consent, refuse or manage your options in detail. Your choice is stored in a cookie.

What is processed: IP address, device and browser information, pages visited, cookie and advertising IDs, and interactions with ads. Without your consent, Google delivers only limited, non-personalised ads where available.

Legal basis: Your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, Section 25(1) TDDDG). You can withdraw or change it at any time with effect for the future via the “Privacy settings” link in the footer of every page.

Transfers to third countries: Google may transfer data to the USA. Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, for which an adequacy decision of the European Commission exists (Art. 45 GDPR).

7. TikTok videos (two-click solution)

Some article pages embed videos from our TikTok channel. When the page loads, only a preview image from our own server is shown. The TikTok player of TikTok Technology Limited, 10 Earlsfort Terrace, Dublin, D02 T380, Ireland, is loaded only when you click play. From that moment, TikTok receives your IP address as well as device and usage data and may set cookies. The legal basis is your consent given by clicking (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, Section 25(1) TDDDG). 8. YouTube videos (two-click solution, privacy-enhanced mode)

Article pages embed the landscape version of our videos from YouTube, a service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. When the page loads, only a preview image from our own server is shown and no connection to YouTube is made. The player is loaded in privacy-enhanced mode via youtube-nocookie.com only when you click play. From that moment, Google receives your IP address as well as device and usage data and may use cookies or similar technologies. The legal basis is your consent given by clicking (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, Section 25(1) TDDDG). Download buttons lead to the official pages of the respective providers (for example CurseForge, Modrinth, GitHub). You leave our website only when you click, and from then on the privacy policy of that provider applies.

10. Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and the right to object to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (Art. 21). You can withdraw any consent at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR).

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
