Alacrity redraws every texture in Minecraft at 32x and gives the game the feel of a role-playing game: medieval, a bit magical, with a lot of small details. The author describes it as a full conversion that is “still recognizable but looks new”. It works in vanilla Minecraft 26.3 without mods. In my texture pack video it is number 2.
What Alacrity changes
- A full conversion at 32x: blocks, items, mobs and the GUI get new textures at double the default resolution.
- RPG, medieval and magic style: the author put in what he loves about fantasy and role-playing games.
- Detailed vegetation and custom 3D block models: many blocks get new shapes, not just new textures.
- Lots of alternative block textures, so large walls and floors look less repetitive.
- Extras in OptiFine format: connected textures and custom entity models need OptiFine or Fabric mods like Continuity and Entity Model Features.
Alacrity for Minecraft 26.3
The current release is Alacrity Update #39 from September 15, 2026, for Minecraft 1.20 to 26.3, about 55 MB. Alacrity has over 1.7 million downloads on Modrinth. You may show it in videos and screenshots, but not re-host it, so I link only the official page.
How to install a texture pack
- Download the zip from the official Modrinth page. Don’t unpack it.
- In Minecraft, open Options, then Resource Packs, and click Open Pack Folder.
- Drop the zip into that folder.
- Back in the game, move the pack to the right (Selected). If you combine it with smaller packs, keep Alacrity at the bottom of your selected packs.

FAQ
Is Alacrity available for Minecraft 26.3?
Yes. Alacrity Update #39 supports Minecraft 1.20 to 26.3 and was published on Modrinth on September 15, 2026.
Do I need OptiFine or a mod for Alacrity?
No. The textures and the custom block models work in vanilla Minecraft. The pack also ships connected textures and custom entity models in the OptiFine format; those only show up with OptiFine or Fabric mods like Continuity and Entity Model Features. My test shows the pack without them.
What resolution is Alacrity?
32x, double the default. It is a bigger download than the 16x packs (about 55 MB), but it runs fine on most PCs.
What else is in my top 5?
Alacrity is number 2. Excalibur, Whimscape, Golden Days and Faithful 64x complete the list in my article on the best texture packs for Minecraft 26.3.
