Faithful 32x: the classic look at double resolution for Minecraft 26.3

The classic Minecraft look at double the resolution. Faithful has been around since 2010 and is already updated for Minecraft 26.3: no mods, no OptiFine.

Faithful 32x keeps the classic Minecraft look and doubles its resolution: every texture is redrawn at 32 by 32 pixels instead of 16 by 16. It is a plain resource pack, so it works in vanilla Minecraft 26.3 without mods or OptiFine. In my video on the best resource packs for 26.3 it is number 2.

What Faithful 32x changes

Every texture, same style: blocks, items and mobs keep their vanilla design, just with twice the detail. Cobblestone, planks and ores look smoother and cleaner, without turning into a different game.
Consistent look: the Faithful team works with a limited palette and keeps all textures consistent with each other, so nothing sticks out.
A long history: Faithful was started in 2010 by Vattic and is maintained by the Faithful team today.

Faithful 32x for Minecraft 26.3

The current release is 26.3-september-2026 from September 15, 2026, about 13 MB. Faithful 32x has over 5 million downloads on Modrinth. It is published under its own Faithful License; as always, I link only the official page.

If your PC has power to spare, there is also Faithful 64x with double the resolution again.

How to install a resource pack

Download the zip from the official Modrinth page. Don’t unpack it.
In Minecraft, open Options, then Resource Packs, and click Open Pack Folder.
Drop the zip into that folder.
Back in the game, move the pack to the right (Selected). Faithful changes almost everything, so put it at the bottom of your selected packs; smaller packs like Round Trees or Fast Better Grass go above it.

The rest of my top 5

Better Lanterns, Round Trees, OS’ Colorful Grasses and Fast Better Grass. The whole list is in 5 Resource Packs for Minecraft 26.3.

Yes. The release 26.3-september-2026 is for Minecraft 26.3 and was published on Modrinth on September 15, 2026.

Do I need OptiFine or a mod for Faithful 32x?

No. It is a plain resource pack that works in vanilla Minecraft.

Vanilla Minecraft textures are 16 by 16 pixels. Faithful redraws them at 32 by 32, so the game keeps its look but gets double the resolution.

Yes, Faithful 64x doubles the resolution again. It needs more memory and graphics power; on most PCs 32x is the safe choice.
