OS’ Colorful Grasses turns Minecraft’s flat grass into bushy tufts in different shades, with colored tips and pampas grass in between. It is a plain resource pack, so it works in vanilla Minecraft 26.3 without mods or OptiFine. In my video on the best resource packs for 26.3 it is number 3.

What OS’ Colorful Grasses changes

Grass: the grass plants become bushy tufts with color variation at the tips, from green to blue-green and yellow, instead of one even green.
Pampas grass: pale, feathery pampas plumes show up in between.
Versions: the original Tall version (the one in my screenshots), a Short version, a MojangX version with the default X-shaped models, and a Mix version that mixes all three.

A meadow is where it shows best: in vanilla it is one carpet of the same green, with the pack it looks like an actual field.

OS’ Colorful Grasses for Minecraft 26.3

The current release is Tall-26.3 from September 21, 2026, for Minecraft 1.20 up to 26.3. The pack has over 4.8 million downloads on Modrinth. It is made by Oslypsis and published under All Rights Reserved, so get it from the official page only.

How to install a resource pack

Download the zip from the official Modrinth page, in the version you want (Tall, Short, MojangX or Mix). Don’t unpack it.
In Minecraft, open Options, then Resource Packs, and click Open Pack Folder.
Drop the zip into that folder.
Back in the game, move the pack to the right (Selected). Packs higher up in that list win when two packs change the same thing.
