VeinMiner Mod: Download and Install Guide (26.3)

VeinMiner turns mining one block into mining the whole vein. Break a single ore and every connected ore of the same kind breaks with it, one after another. It works server-side, so every player can use it, and version 2.12.2 is out for Minecraft 26.3.

What VeinMiner does

Out of the box, VeinMiner is set up for ores and pickaxes. Mine one ore block and the rest of the vein follows. Your tool has to be able to mine the block normally, so you still need the right pickaxe for diamonds.

A few defaults worth knowing:

• Up to 100 blocks break in one chain (maxChain).
• Every block costs durability, just like normal mining (durabilityDecrease).
• There’s a short cooldown of 20 ticks between vein mines.

Trees and other blocks: block groups

Block groups decide which blocks are mined together and with which tools. For whole trees, create a group for all logs and limit it to axes:

/veinminer groups create Logs
/veinminer groups edit Logs add-block #minecraft:logs
/veinminer groups edit Logs add-tool #minecraft:axes

Now breaking one log takes the whole trunk. Block and item inputs accept tags like #minecraft:logs, and /veinminer presets sets up some useful groups for you.

Settings

Almost everything is a setting, changed with /veinminer settings <name> <value>:

• mustSneak: only veinmine while sneaking (default: off)
• cooldown: ticks between vein mines (default: 20)
• maxChain: maximum blocks per chain (default: 100)
• mergeItemDrops: all drops land at the first block (default: off)
• hungerPerBlock: extra saturation cost per block (default: 0)

The Hotkey addon

The VeinMiner Hotkey addon is a client mod. While it’s installed, veinmining only happens while you hold the hotkey (Y or Z, depending on your keyboard layout), and you see a live preview of the blocks that will break. Hold the key and scroll to switch patterns, add shift to change the depth and width. VeinMiner itself still has to be on the server.

VeinMiner for Minecraft 26.3

The current release is VeinMiner 2.12.2 for Minecraft 26.3, out since September 23, 2026 for Fabric, Quilt and NeoForge. The same mod runs as a plugin on Paper, Purpur and Folia servers. For vanilla servers there’s also a light datapack version (1.x). VeinMiner has more than 87 million downloads on Modrinth.

How to install VeinMiner

1. Install your mod loader for Minecraft 26.3: Fabric, Quilt or NeoForge.
2. On Fabric, add Fabric API and Fabric Language Kotlin. On NeoForge, add KotlinLangForge.
3. Download VeinMiner for 26.3 from Modrinth, filtered by your loader.
4. Put everything into the mods folder of your server, or of your own game in single-player (.minecraft/mods for the vanilla launcher, or your instance’s mods folder in Prism, the CurseForge app or the Modrinth App).

One tip

VeinMiner runs lightweight, but huge, unnatural veins can lag the game and the server because of all the item drops. Keep the chain limit sensible, or turn on mergeItemDrops.
